Ross John Coeling passed away at age 82 in Gilbert, Arizona on October 5, 2012 as he arose to meet the Lord after a brief illness. He was born on October 23, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts Degree in business, and continued in his studies to receive his Masters Degree in market research from Michigan University. He played in the Michigan Marching Band that went to the Rose Bowl in 1951, following Michigan's famous 9-3 defeat of Ohio State in the "frozen" Big-10 Conference game known as the "Snow Bowl". After graduating college, he served his country as an enlisted Sergeant in the United States Army and met the love of his life, a Colorado College coed named Joyce. They were married and enjoyed each other for nearly 59 faithful years of marriage until the moment of his passing. Ross worked in the Real Estate and Insurance business where he treated his customers with great integrity. He was a devoted family man and was very active in Rotary International and served as Governor of District 5470 (Colorado) from 1995-96. Ross was very outgoing and instantly made friends in passing. He enjoyed travel throughout his life and lived daily with a strong Christian conviction. A sense of humor served him well in his endeavors, as he gave captivating speeches and often acted as a master of ceremonies at church functions and Rotary meetings. He loved his children and was a mild- mannered and soft-spoken gentleman. Ross's outgoing nature pleased his friends and his big heart & willingness to explore led him into many areas of interest. Acquired abilities were endless and his benevolent spirit will live on in all of us. Ross is survived by his wife Joyce, his two children Annette & John and seven grandchildren. Private family services will take place within the week. VIEW THE FULL OBITUARY AT www.valleyofthesunfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery.
