“Ride with Confidence:” Polar Releases Smartest Cycling Computer with Integrated GPS

PR Newswire Association LLC

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Polar (www.polar.com), the leader in heart rate monitoring and sports performance technologies, released the Polar V650, a high-end, future-proof cycling computer designed for athletes who want to analyze every aspect of training. Featuring a full-touch color display, the Polar V650 has integrated GPS to track speed, altitude and distance.  Additional Smart Coaching features like training load help users understand the cumulative effect of exercise and recovery needs.

When used with the compatible Polar H6 or H7 Bluetooth® Smart heart rate sensor, the Polar V650 shows cyclists the health and fitness benefits of training at different intensities, how it affects their bodies and how long it takes for them to recover and be ready to train again.  The cycling computer is also compatible with Bluetooth® Smart cycling speed, cadence and power sensors for additional data to gain an edge over competitors on the road.

The Polar V650 can be used together with the free Polar Flow app and web service, where riders can plan and analyze all the details of their training.  This allows them to wirelessly sync all cycling data and view it online or on the go.  Polar Flow also connects users to a community of equally dedicated athletes and friends.

"Giving cyclists yet another edge to their training, the Polar V650 offers the best way to 'ride with confidence' and it represents our most advanced cycling computer yet," said Herb Baer, Polar USA president. "The V650 is an incomparable tool for cyclists to learn more about each ride, use that intelligence to get better, and then share their routes – and passion – with a global community of other elite riders."

The Polar V650 is light (only 120g) and features a 2.8" color display providing cyclists an easy way to view and track performance while switching between views, even at high speeds. The device allows up to four data points to be displayed at the same time and the front-mounted smart visibility LED light turns on automatically in low-light conditions.  The Polar V650 has a 10-hour battery life in training mode.
