Reginald N. Rabjohns, CLU®, ChFC®, Named Chairman Of The American College Foundation Board Of Directors

BRYN MAWR, PA — July 15, 2010 — American College Trustee and former Million Dollar Round Table President Reginald N. Rabjohns, CLU®, ChFC®, has been named the new Chairman of The American College Foundation Board of Directors.

His vision and commitment to professional education are helping to create new opportunities at The American College through investments in advanced research and cutting edge learning technologies,” stated Charles (Tip) Cronin III, CLU®, CAP®, Senior Vice President of Advancement and The Foundation’s Chief Staff Officer.
The American College Foundation seeks to provide philanthropic support that furthers the institution’s important educational mission. Directors of the Foundation Board are leaders in the financial services industry committed to the highest levels of professionalism and ethics as well as the rigorous learning that develops those values in financial advisors.
As the Chairman of the Foundation, Rabjohns’ responsibilities include:
• Leading the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors to ensure proper functioning of all committees.
• Working directly with the President and Chief Staff Officer in establishing goals for the Foundation and leading the effort to achieve those objectives.
• Recruiting and engaging new members for the Board of Directors.
Rabjohns has been a Managing Partner with New England Financial since 1997. Prior to joining New England Financial, he was an Agent and a General Agent with State Mutual/Allmerica Financial.
At age 27, after six consecutive years of qualification, Rabjohns became the youngest Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). In 1999 he was named President of the organization.
He currently serves on the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees of The American College. Rabjohns has also served as a Trustee and Treasurer of the GAMA Foundation and served as a Trustee of the Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE).
In addition, he has held a variety of leadership positions with local Chicago-area financial services associations. He is the only person to have served as the President of the Chicago Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (CAIFA), the Chicago chapter of GAMA International and the Chicago Society of Financial Service Professionals.
Rabjohns attended Northern Illinois University from 1964 - 1967. He earned his Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation in 1971 and his Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation from The American College in 1983.
“Reg Rabjohns is someone who is actively and passionately talking about the well-being of this profession. You would be hard-pressed to find anyone who lives the credo of Dr. Solomon S. Huebner, that is more effective or more ethical than Reg,” stated Larry Barton, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of The American College.
His civic involvement includes service to numerous non-profit organizations including the Misericordia Heart of Mercy Home, the Union League Club of Chicago and the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Northfield.
In 2008, Rabjohns received the prestigious Huebner Gold Medal from The American College, the institution’s highest honor. He has also received the Distinguished Service Award from The Chicago Association of Life Underwriters and Huebner Scholar Award from the Chicago Chapter of CLU® and ChFC®.
He and his wife of 43 years, Micheline, have been Northbrook, Illinois residents since 1968. The Rabjohns have five children and four grandchildren.
