Progressive Medical Intervention RX™ Assists Workers’ Compensation Claims Professionals Ensure Appropriate Medication Usage

WESTERVILLE, Ohio  - August 27, 2008 — Progressive Medical, Inc. today announced the availability of Intervention RX™,  a program that provides an in-depth clinical review analysis and report of an injured party’s medication usage. With Intervention RX, claims professionals are better prepared to determine appropriate usage and proactively plan for future medication needs.

Three levels of service are available including pharmacist review, review by a physician in conjunction with a pharmacist and an optional physician to physician consultation. Progressive Medical Intervention RX works like this:

A physician and/or pharmacist reviews and evaluates an injured party’s medication utilization.
  • A detailed findings report is generated within 21 business days, offering clinical rationale to support any recommendations made by the pharmacist and/or physician. Information contained in the report can be upheld in a court of law.
  • Claims professionals can use the Intervention RX program to guard against potential utilization review conflicts, drug interactions and allergies, therapeutic duplication, over-utilization and excessive duration of use. Used in conjunction with Progressive Medical’s Drug Utilization Review program, Intervention RX can assist in decreasing medication expenses in workers’ compensation claims.

Claims best suited for Intervention RX contain more than 10 medications, are more than 10 years old or are pending litigation and/or settlement.
