Prodigo Signs Agreement with GetixHealth to Adopt Insurance Eligibility Technology
| Targeted News Service |
Prodigo Revenue Cycle Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of UPMC, has signed an agreement with GetixHealth to adopt Prodigo's revenue cycle technology to help hospitals rapidly retrieve patient eligibility information from insurers while reducing denials and delays for patients. Used successfully at UPMC for more than five years, Prodigo's eEligibility tool connects directly to a payer's website to retrieve richer data on patient eligibility, improving patient satisfaction and payment times for health care providers. "UPMC's track record with the Prodigo technology gives us tremendous confidence in adopting eEligibility for the benefit of our hospital customers," said Sonia Khadami, president of GetixHealth, a revenue cycle management company. "We are delighted to be among the first commercial business partners of Prodigo Revenue Cycle Services and look forward to extending our relationship with the adoption of additional technologies in the future." The eEligibility technology can be used by organizations for individual transactions or as part of a web-based tool that provides an automated, "no touch" approach to eligibility retrieval, with dramatic enhancements in staff productivity. "We can attest to the value that the eEligibility function has brought to UPMC's everyday processes. Not only have we increased automation opportunities and streamlined work, but we have also seen a decrease in the number of denials on the back-end that are directly related to registration errors," said
"We are confident that GetixHealth's clients will reap significant benefits with this advanced technology." Prodigo Revenue Cycle Services (ProdigoRCS) is part of Prodigo Solutions, formed by UPMC to offer its advanced supply chain and revenue cycle technologies to other health care organizations seeking greater efficiencies in a rapidly changing health care landscape. ProdigoRCS currently features five different product suites: eEligibility, eDenial Prevention, eMA Eligibility, eFA Eligibility and eClaim Status Inquiry. The products were first developed internally to address UPMC's business needs, but UPMC created ProdigoRCS to commercialize the offering in 2010.
