Philadelphia Insurance Names Karen Gilmer-Pauciello New Chief Financial Officer

Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), a leading property and casualty insurance company for niche markets, announces the promotion of Karen Gilmer-Pauciello from Senior Vice President & Controller to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.

In her new role, Ms. Pauciello has responsibility for all financial and tax accounting and reporting, corporate budgeting/planning and treasury activities, and she serves as liaison to the Company's external auditors and investment advisors. She will also serve as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer of Tokio Marine North America, Inc., the parent company of PHLY, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tokio Marine Holdings, Inc. She takes over for Craig Keller who retires after 21 years as Chief Financial Officer of PHLY.

After joining PHLY in 2005 as Vice President & Controller, Ms. Pauciello was promoted to Senior Vice President & Controller in 2009. Prior to joining PHLY, she previously held financial management positions at several insurers, beginning her career as an auditor at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Philadelphia.

Ms. Pauciello holds a B.S. in Accounting and an M.B.A. (Finance concentration) from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a member of the American & Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. Ms. Pauciello resides in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania with her husband and their triplet sons.
