New law firm to open Sept. 1 in midtown Sacramento

Aug. 27--Most of the attorneys with the Sacramento law firm of Prout-LeVangie LLP have split off to firm a new firm in midtown.

Michael LeVangie, Sharon Futerman, Jeffrey Long, Shawn Loorz, Bryan Malone, Laurie Marquis, Anna Niemann and Jason Rose will commence business on Sept. 1 as LeVangie Law Group LLP at 2021 N St.

The eight attorneys represented the bulk of 10 listed on Prout-LeVangie's website. As a result, Michael LeVangie said the Prout-LeVangie firm "will dissolve September 1."

LeVangie said he and partner R. Mac Prout agreed to go in different directions. Attempts to reach Prout were unsuccessful.

LeVangie said the new boutique trial and business law firm has numerous advantages in today's marketplace: "We see the Sacramento market growing and believe offering high-end litigation service without the layers found in the national law firms allows our clients more direct and efficient service."

The new firm says it has a wide range of local, state and national clients and will offer litigation and business transactional law services to clients that include health care organizations, insurance carriers, sports/recreation providers, physicians, real estate developers, corporations, small businesses and individuals.
