NIPR Further Streamlines Agent Licensing Process
New 'Attachments Warehouse' Saves Time, Money
NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. (Sept. 22, 2008) — The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) is pleased to announce the launch of Attachments Warehouse, a new licensing tool that electronically stores documents submitted by applicants.
“The Attachments Warehouse simplifies and expedites what was once a complicated, time-consuming process,” said NIPR Executive Director Maryellen Waggoner. “By focusing on efficiency and uniformity, we will continue to improve our one-stop shop for producer licensing — benefiting agents and regulators alike.”
Prior to the launch of Attachments Warehouse, all requested documents had to be faxed or mailed to each requesting state and then matched to a hardcopy application by a member of the state insurance department. Now, once an attachment is submitted online via the Warehouse, a notification is e-mailed to the requesting state(s). Insurance department personnel simply download the document(s) from the Warehouse while reviewing the corresponding application.
“I am extremely pleased to report that we received our first submission of responses to background questions via the new Attachments Warehouse,” said New Hampshire Insurance Department Licensing Division Manager Clinton Lane. “It worked perfectly.”
To date, all jurisdictions are accepting documents via the NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.
