Alyn Ackermann
NEW YORK
Oliver Wyman, the management consultant subsidiary of broker Marsh & McLennan Cos., has acquired ChapterHouse, a health care strategy consulting firm serving clients throughout North America.
Terms of the transaction were not being released, said spokesman Chris Schmidt.
ChapterHouse's operations and its staff of 50, based in the Chicago area, are joining Oliver Wyman's Health & Life Sciences practice, which consults internationally to the payer, provider, health management, biotech, pharmaceutical and medical-device sectors, Schmidt said.
The ChapterHouse staff will remain in their current location, he said.
Oliver Wyman employs 2,900 professionals in more than 40 cities around the world. It was formed last year when Marsh & McLennan (NYSE: MMC) combined three management consulting units (BestWire, May 11, 2007).
Marsh & McLennan is the second-largest broker in the world based on 2007 brokerage revenue, according to the Best's Review ranking of global brokers.
Shares of Marsh & McLennan Cos. were selling at $28.71 in late trading on Aug. 4, up 2.57% from the previous close.
