Managed Care Company, CareSource, Names new Board Chairs
Michael E. Ervin, M.D., named chair of Ohio Board of Trustees and Ellen Leffak, J.D., named chair of Management Group Board of Directors.
Dayton, Ohio (Vocus) -- CareSource, a leading managed care company, has announced two new board chairs, effective immediately. Michael E. Ervin, M.D. has been named Chair for the CareSource Ohio Board of Trustees and Ellen Leffak has been named Chair of the Management Group Board of Directors.
"We are honored to have a health care expert and community philanthropist like Dr. Ervin chairing our board," said Pamela B. Morris, president and CEO at CareSource. "His leadership will be critical as we prepare for the growth associated with health care reform."
Michael E. Ervin, M.D. has served on the Ohio Board of Trustees for two years and will now chair the Board. Dr. Ervin began his career as an emergency physician. In 1990, Dr. Ervin left emergency medicine to devote his time to the business he started, Wright Health Associates. After his retirement, he dedicated his life to philanthropy and has served in multiple board leadership roles including serving on the Board of Trustees for the University of Dayton, co-chair of the Greater Downtown Dayton Plan and served as co-chair of the Montgomery County Safety Net Task Force which evaluated coverage options to support the uninsured residents of Montgomery County.
Ellen Leffak has been named chair of the CareSource Management Group Board of Directors. She is replacing Thomas G. Breitenbach, who will continue to serve as a member of the board.
Ms. Leffak has been a member of the board for 19 years. She is an attorney and is Director of Insurance and Risk Management for Dayton Power & Light Company. Previously she was the chair of the CareSource Ohio Board of Trustees. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Miami Valley Child Development Centers and the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton. Previously she served on the Board of Trustees for the Ronald McDonald House, serving as board president.
"Leffak's work on the Ohio Board of Trustees and with other non-profit organizations makes her well-suited to chair the Management Group Board of Directors," Morris said. "We appreciate her leadership and her dedication to helping the underserved."
