Man indicted on sex abuse charge [The Hazard Herald, Ky.]

Oct. 31--HAZARD -- A Hazard man was indicted last week on multiple counts of sexually abusing a minor.

Tony L. Caudill, 33, is facing three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, according to the indictment, which alleges Caudill had sexual contact with a person less than 12 years old in 2011.

Caudill was arrested on Oct. 4 after an arrest warrant was issued. He was alleged to have "admitted to the offenses," according to the warrant. He is currently lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Also indicted this month in a separate case alleging sexual abuse was 28-year-old Fred Coots of Vicco, who is charged with first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree sodomy for allegedly subjecting a 5-year-old to sexual contact and engaging n deviate intercourse on Nov. 27, 2012. His bond was set at $100,000.

Brian Stamper, 37, of Hazard, is facing charges of theft over $500 and third-degree criminal mischief. He was alleged to have taken a brush cutter from Tractor Supply on July 28. His bond was set at $20,000.

Thomas Messer, 55, of Viper, was indicted on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence fourth offense, driving on a DUI suspended license, and several other traffic offenses. He was also charged with second-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia for allegedly possessing hydrocodone on April 23. Bond was set at $30,000.

Willis Herald, 41, of Combs, was indicted on one count of third-degree burglary for allegedly burglarizing a building on Jan. 31. Bond was set at $20,000.

Dustin Mullins, 32, and Luther J. Jent, both of Busy, were indicted on one count of receiving stolen property over $500 for allegedly receiving stolen car parts on July 26. Bond for both men was set at $20,000.

Joseph Sizemore, 30, of Sassafras, was indicted on one count of theft for allegedly stealing copper wire from an AEP truck on Oct. 8. Bond was set at $20,000.

Brenda Turner, 35, of Bulan, is facing a charge of theft. She is accused of aiding another woman by driving the getaway car during a theft at the Hazard Walmart on Aug. 24. Bond was set at $20,000.

David Begley, 32, of Bulan, is charged with four counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. He is accused of possessing a forged check on four different accounts in January and February. His bond was set at $20,000.

Johnny Jones, 38, of Hazard, is charged with one count each of DUI second offense, second-degree assault, and failure to produce insurance card. He is accused of assaulting another man while driving his vehicle under the influence on April 21. Bond was set at $75,000.

Gary Stidham, 50, of Middlesburg, Ky., was indicted on one count of third-degree burglary for allegedly burglarizing the city of Hazard's sewage treatment center on Aug. 5. Bond was set at $20,000.

Charles S. Godsey, 39, of Hindman, is facing charges of public intoxication, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and first-degree promoting contraband. Bond was set at $20,000.

Dustin Plowman, 25, and Adam Plowman, 36, both of Hazard, are each charged with one count of second-degree burglary for allegedly burglarizing a private residence on Oct. 1. Bond was set at $30,000.
