Local VNA CEO Appointed to National Home Healthcare Board

PR Web

(PRWEB) January 31, 2014

Faith F. Scott, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern NJ (VNA), has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA), a health industry organization that supports, promotes and advocates for nonprofit home health, hospice and palliative care.

“I’m pleased to have this opportunity to collaborate with distinguished colleagues and influence national best practices at a pivotal time in the history of our industry,” said Scott. “With the size of the elderly population growing and federal healthcare reform emphasizing a reduction in inpatient and custodial care, the work of nonprofit home healthcare agencies has never been more relevant.”

“VNAA is dedicated to helping its members enhance the caliber of their care and patient outcomes while also embracing new ways to improve operating efficiency,” she said. “I’m looking forward to sharing some of the successful strategies that we’ve implemented at our VNA here in New Jersey.”

Scott is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) who holds an undergraduate degree in nursing (BSN) from Boston College and a master’s degree (MSN) from Columbia. She has been the CEO of the VNA of Northern NJ for more than 20 years. Under her leadership, the Morristown-based organization, which serves clients in more than 40 communities each day, has experienced unprecedented growth and success.

Based in Washington, D.C. with member agencies in 40 states, VNAA is committed to ensuring access to care, excellence, accountability and transparency in the home healthcare industry. “Faith Scott is a valuable addition to the VNAA Board of Directors. In her long tenure as an agency CEO she has gained a unique perspective on the ever changing face of home healthcare. She’s seen many changes in the way we serve the most vulnerable populations and her leadership will be key to building a future for local agencies in community health,” said Tracey Moorhead, President and CEO of Visiting Nurse Associations of America.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNA) has a distinguished 116-year tradition of service in Morris County and neighboring communities. The VNA’s comprehensive roster of home healthcare services includes skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, hospice care, certified home health aides, caregiver support programs, private care solutions and Friendship House, a social adult day care center. For further information, call 1-800-WE VISIT (938-4748) or refer to vnannj.org.

About the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey
Statistics show Americans would prefer to age in place at home. However, few are factoring the cost of home care into their retirement planning. The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey has devoted more than a century to delivering home health services to the residents of Morris County, NJ and neighboring communities who want to return home following hospitalization or need a helping hand to remain in the comfort of home despite illness, disability or advanced age. The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey provides comprehensive home care services, including skilled nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, hospice, certified home health aides, caregiver training and support and Friendship House, an adult day care center. The Private Care Services program offers certified home health aide assistance tailored to meet specific client needs, lifestyles and resource levels.
