Getting the gamewinner on Andrea Keady's penalty-stroke goal with 8:00 left in the match, the Elizabethtown College field hockey team took over sole possession of first place in the Commonwealth Conference with a 3-1 victory over NCAA Division III No. 11 Messiah (6-1 CC, 12-3 overall) Saturday afternoon at E-town's Wolf Field. Taylor Alwine gave the Blue Jays (7-0, 12-4) a 1-0 lead 8:35 into the contest, before Messiah freshman Moriah Pfautz (Ephrata) evened the match with her 13th goal of the season just over 5:00 later.

Kaylee Werner added an insurance goal for E-town with 1:32 left to play, while Jays' goalie Marlena Johnson recorded 12 saves.

It was the second victory over a nationally-ranked team this season for E-town, which concludes the regular season Tuesday at Lebanon Valley.

Katelyn Zapp's breakaway goal in the 90th minute was the difference for NCAA Division II No. 2 Millersville (7-1 PSAC, 15-1 overall), which clinched a PSAC playoff berth with a 2-1 double- overtime victory over No. 6 Bloomsburg (5-3, 9-6) Saturday.

The Marauders, whose 15 regular season wins are the most in school history and just two shy of the program record for total victories, held a 17-7 edge in shots and a 15-6 advantage in penalty corners by game's end.

Millersville hosts Kutztown in its regular-season finale Tuesday.

Goals from Juliet Dalton, Lauren Eastman and Tamara Mills powered NCAA Division III No. 6 Franklin & Marshall (9-0 Centennial Conference, 15-1 overall) to a 3-1 victory over Dickinson (7-2, 12- 4) Saturday afternoon in Lancaster.

With the victory, Diplomats head coach Melissa Mariano tied the school's all-time record for coaching wins with 78.

Freshman forward Karlee Farr (Donegal) registered a goal and an assist and junior forward Lauren Brooks</person> (Hempfield) also scored to lift No. 3 Syracuse (13-2) to a 5-2 victory over No. 16 Wake Forest Saturday.

Laura Gebhart (Donegal), Whitney Reddig (Warwick) and Abby Fuhrman (Elizabethtown) each scored a goal for Penn State (13-3) in a 5-0 rout of UC Davis Saturday in Iowa City, Iowa.

Men's soccer: Lancaster Bible sophomore Zac Bonomo's penalty- kick goal in the fifth round of the overtime shootout gave the Chargers a win over Cairn Saturday in Lancaster, which advances them to the NCCAA National Tournament for the first time since 2011.

After 110 minutes of scoreless soccer, the teams went to a shootout for the third straight postseason meeting. LBC goalkeeper Stefan Smith made a save and watched a shot sail wide before Bonomo gave LBC the victory.

Josiah Groff (Conestoga Valley) also scored for LBC in the shootout. Cairn goalkeeper Dave Shaffer (Garden Spot) made four saves during regulation and overtime.

The Chargers (5-9-3) will represent the East Region in next month's NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Fla.

Senior Andrew Dukes and junior Anthony Fratini both registered a goal and an assist to lift host Millersville (7-2 PSAC, 10-4-1 overall) to a 5-0 rout of Pitt-Johnstown Saturday night.

The Marauders also got goals from Jeramey Robbins, Jaime Vazquez and Zack Caracciolo, while goalie Brad Benzing picked up his sixth shutout of the season.

Getting a pair of goals from Ben Beaver, including one off of a penalty kick, and a goal and an assist from Chase TenBrook, Franklin & Marshall (4-3-1 Centennial Conference, 11-3-2 overall) cruised to a 4-0 victory over Dickinson (4-3-1, 11-4-1) Saturday in Lancaster.

Making his first start, freshman goalie Taylor Skelly (Penn Manor) picked up the shutout for the Diplomats.

Despite Zach Lee's goal in the 67th minute, Elizabethtown (5-2 Commonwealth Conference, 8-6-2 overall) dropped a 2-1 decision to Lebanon Valley (3-3-1, 9-5-3) Saturday in Annville.

Women's soccer: Cairn scored three times in the second half to shock top-seeded Lancaster Bible, 4-0 in the NCCAA East Region final Saturday in Lancaster.

Amara Mills had a hat trick for the Highlanders (7-10-2), who will represent the East Region in next month's NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Fla. Sophomore goalkeeper Kaitlyn Scheuing (Donegal) made two saves for LBC (12-7).

Sydney Nester's open-net goal in the 97th minute was the difference for Elizabethtown in a 2-1 overtime win over Lebanon Valley Saturday in Annville.

Lauren Berry also scored for the Blue Jays (5-2 Commonwealth Conference, 10-6 overall).

Netting a pair of goals in a three-minute span in the first half, Dickinson (4-3-2 Centennial Conference, 8-6-2 overall) handed Franklin & Marshall (3-4-2, 5-7-3) a 2-1 loss Saturday in Carlisle.

Alexa Harnish scored the lone goal for the Diplomats, who got seven saves from senior goalie Amanda McGowan (Conestoga Valley).

Senior Rachel Hess (Penn Manor) scored a goal in Shippensburg's 3- 2 home win over Seton Hill Saturday.

Cross Country: Led by freshman Shannon Cruz (Lancaster Catholic), who finished 18th out of 160 runners to earn All-Conference honors, Millersville's women finished 12th out of 17 teams at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships Saturday in Kutztown.

Also running for the Marauders, who will compete in the NCAA Atlantic RegionalNov. 9 at Lock Haven, were Abigail Daley (24:26.9, 63rd), Megan Meyer (24:47.4, 77th), Amanda Long (25:10.3, 93rd) and Elizabeth Reese (25:16.4, 98th).

Also placing for the Blue Jays, who will attempt to defend their title at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday at DeSales University, were Jon Anderson (27:33.2, 3rd), Patrick Jones (28:18.7, 5th), Kegan Flagg (28:34.5, 8th) and Ian Kulis (28:39.5, 10th).

Elizabethtown's women's team finished second at the Hood College Open Saturday in Frederick, Md. behind a fourth-place finish from Amy Gessler (24:50.5).

Also finishing in the top-20 for the Blue Jays were Caitlin Pysher (25:42.2, 11th), Ali Christ (25:47.5, 12th), Monica Venturella (25:54.2, 13th) and Kayla Novak (26:12.2, 19th).

E-town will try to defend its title at the Middle Athletic Conference Championships Saturday at DeSales University.

Volleyball: Paced by seven kills apiece from Julie Harvey and Ellie Ezekiel, Franklin & Marshall (9-0 CC, 22-4 overall) remained perfect in Centennial Conference play with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-7, 25- 16) victory over host Dickinson (1-8, 6-16) Saturday.

Caroline Hubbard contributed 28 assists for the Diplomats, who also got 16 digs from Alyssa Sanchez.

Powered by 17 kills from Katie Lesinski, host Millersville (7-8 PSAC, 12-12 overall) rolled to a 3-1 (13-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-18) victory Saturday over Pitt-Johnstown (9-6, 17-8).

Football: Sophomore tailback Austin Hartman (Cocalico) ran for 228 yards and four touchdowns to help Lebanon Valley (5-1 MAC, 6-1 overall) maintain a share of first place in the Middle Atlantic Conference with a 31-14 victory over Misericordia (0-6, 0-7) Saturday.

Hartman's 228 yards were the fourth most for a running back in one game in LVC history.

Shippensburg junior linebacker Brian Sourber (Manheim Township) was named the Homecoming Defensive MVP Saturday after recording 12 tackles in the Red Raiders' 32-29 home loss to NCAA Division II No. 13 West Chester (5-0 PSAC, 8-0 overall) Saturday.

Swimming: Senior Julia Mongeau (Hempfield) and freshman Kyra Valent (Ephrata) each won a pair of events to lift Lebanon Valley's women's team to a 138-18 rout of Arcadia Saturday in Annville.

Mongeau won the 100 and 200 breaststroke, in 1:25.87 and 3:09.03, respectively. Valent took the 400 freestyle in 5:08.03 and the 800 free in 10:34.42.

Franklin & Marshall's men's and women's teams both lost their season openers to NCAA Division III No. 3 Johns Hopkins Saturday in Lancaster.

The F&M women fell 161-96, while the men fell 180-77.

Elizabethtown's men's and women's teams lost their season openers to host York College Saturday.

The Blue Jays women were outlasted 112-93, while the men dropped a 121-57 decision.

Gettysburg junior Stu Cubbison (Lancaster Catholic) won the 50 freestyle in 21.51 to help the host Bullets sweep Susquehanna and Messiah in a season-opening tri-meet Saturday.

Rowing: Competing in its final event of the fall season, Franklin & Marshall's women's team finished 14th out of 40 boats at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia.
