Linda Adams to Lead Specialty Medical Reviews for CompPartners
CompPartners, a managed health care organization, has announced the appointment of Linda Adams as product director of Specialty Medical Reviews (SMR), its independent medical review service for group health (see also Managed Care).
SMR offers evidence-based, independent medical reviews of appeals to group health insurance carriers, third-party administrators, government agencies/municipalities, and self-insured employers. Nationally available services focus on medical necessity, investigational interventions, and certificates of coverage.
Adams oversees SMR product development, market analysis and sales and account management while working with the SMR team on operations, provider recruitment, training, and IT. She has 15 years experience in managed care and has worked in health care for more than 25 years. Most recently, Adams served as the director of new technology, transplants and clinical trials for Coventry Health Care in Bethesda, Md.
Adams holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Boston College and is a licensed registered nurse. A resident of Damascus, Md., Adams serves her community through volunteering at Days End Horse Farm Rescue and coordinating Toys for Tots program.
