Lima YP to hold awards gala

Nov. 29--LIMA -- Lima Young Professionals wanted a way to honor its outstanding members and supporters. That desire has resulted in the inaugural Lima YP Black Tie Awards Gala.

The event starts with cocktails at 5 p.m. Wednesday at The Ohio Theatre. Tickets are $30 or $240 for a table. Dress is suit or tuxedo for men and evening wear for women. Call 419-222-6045 for tickets or details.

The night also includes dinner, entertainment by comedy improv group Laughs in Middle America and a keynote speech by Bill Walters.

"We are recognizing young leaders in our community, Lima YP 'influencers,' and honoring an individual or business who has embodied the mission and purpose of the Love Lima community pride movement," Lima YP program director Jacquelyn Beckner said.

The evening will recognize multiple award winners. Here are the nominees:

YP Community Service: Scott Cockerell, with Wannemacher Total Logistics; Chastity Butterfield, with Thin & Healthy's Total Solutions and Fitness Solution 24/7; and Ben Anderson, with State Farm Insurance.

Emerging YP of the Year: Steven Cox, The State Bank & Trust Co.; Joshua Morris, with Fast Signs; and Jeremiah Wright, with NOW Marketing Group.

Pacesetter Award: Gary Minnick, with First Federal Bank; Michelle Sterling, with Sign Pro Imaging; and Grant Sullivan, with Sullivan Insurance.

YP Commitment Award: Wannemacher Total Logistics, NOW Marketing Group and Sielschott Financial Services.

Love Lima Award: John Heaphy, with Good Food Management, Tiffany Kayser, with Childers Media Group; and Rob Nelson, with Lima Meaningful Development.
