Liberty Northwest® Returns More Than $2 Million To Oregon LPCG Members

Portland, OR - August 18, 2009 – Liberty Northwest, a Liberty Mutual Agency Markets regional company, today announced a total retrospective rating adjustment of more than $2 million for members of the Liberty Premier Contractors Group (LPCG) workers’ compensation insurance program.
The rating adjustment reflects the participants’ safety performance during the policy year ending October 1, 2008, and amounts to a total net group savings of 21 percent, which includes premium adjustments, tax savings, and non-disabling medical reimbursements.
Through its effective workers’ compensation cost-reduction strategy, Liberty Northwest gives employers short-and-long-term incentives for improving safety and realizing significant end-of-year plan savings.
“These results demonstrate the commitment of LPCG members to make safety essential in every task, on every job,” said Linda Lindsten, executive director of the Oregon State Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors, an LPCG member. “It also speaks to members’ successful partnership with Liberty Northwest, whose hands-on involvement, outstanding service, and dedication to jobsite safety is key to this result.”
Plan participants also include member companies of Associated Builders and Contractors, Pacific Northwest chapter. “We’re proud to partner with Liberty Northwest,” said John Killin, president of this ABC chapter. “For more than a decade, we’ve offered our members a workers’ compensation program that gives expert service, fair rates, and a reward for favorable group performance.”
