Liberty International Underwriters Hires Daniel Westbury to Oversee its West Coast Marine Operations

BOSTON, Jan. 27 -- Liberty Mutual Group issued the following news release:

Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), the global specialty lines division of Liberty Mutual Insurance, today announced that Daniel Westbury has joined the company as Vice President, West Coast Regional Manager for Marine. Mr. Westbury will be based in LIU'sSan Francisco office and will oversee LIU Marine's Seattle operations.

Mr. Westbury has spent over 20 years in the insurance industry working on both the broker and carrier sides of the business. Predominantly a cargo specialist, Mr. Westbury has built his reputation by seeking out and building profitable books of business in marine segments that others have not actively investigated. Tapping into his experience of identifying solutions that are outside-the-box, Mr. Westbury can help agents and brokers bring to their clients alternative strategies for protecting their risk.
