CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 6 -- Mecklenburg County issued the following news release:
Mecklenburg County Manager Dena R. Diorio has announced the addition of a new resource to help with County space issues and real estate planning.
Dennis K. LaCaria has been named Sr. Assistant to the County Manager. He will be responsible for providing enterprise-wide strategic leadership in facilities and real estate planning and utilization, and will serve as the County's expert in the identification of space needs for County functions.
This position will also represent the County Manager's Office in redevelopment initiatives that affect County real estate and facilities.
LaCaria has served as director of the department charged with capital planning for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) since 2006, where he managed the real estate team and a portfolio of 21 million square feet of building space.
LaCaria begins work on Oct. 13, 2014.
