Keenan Partners With TelaDoc for 24/7 Phone Access to Physician Network
TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Keenan & Associates, the largest privately held insurance brokerage and consulting firm in California, has assembled a unique set of partners and resources to provide best-in-class services. An example of that commitment to quality and support is the TelaDoc program available through the Keenan HealthCare division.
TelaDoc is a national network of board-certified physicians providing cross coverage consultations via the telephone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. TelaDoc physicians use the member's personal medical record and telephone consultations to diagnose, recommend treatment and write short-term prescriptions. TelaDoc augments the member's relationship with their primary care physician through additional physician availability and an efficient, cost-effective alternative for minor medical problems.
"We've built our programs, products and services around principles of customer alignment, accountability and transparency," said Henry Loubet, Keenan Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning. "The partners we select are carefully evaluated to ensure that their solutions will provide high levels of value and cost effectiveness for our clients. TelaDoc is a very innovative and cost-effective means of providing physician resources."
The service provides treatment for minor illnesses such as sinus infections, respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, allergies, bronchitis and sore throat. It offers an easily accessible resource when the patient cannot reach the primary care physician, is traveling, needs a recurring prescription filled, is seeking a second opinion, or has general medical questions, issues or concerns.
A TelaDoc physician will respond in an average of 30 minutes or less, with a guarantee of no more than three hours or the consultation is free. The service uses a toll-free 800 number with a single, flat consultation rate regardless of day or time of call. Records are private and confidential. There is no restriction regarding pre-existing conditions. Additionally, members can access personal portable electronic health records online or by phone.
