Inventor of EZ Tarp™ Adhesive Roof Tarp to be Honored at the National Hurricane Conference

Miami, FL, March 19, 2010 – A Tarp Solution, LLC founder Tony Diaz of Miami, inventor of the EZ Tarp™ Adhesive Roof Tarp will be awarded the 2010 National Hurricane Conference’s prestigious Mitigation Outstanding Service Award on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the conference’s closing ceremony in Orlando, Florida.

The annual awards in multiple categories are bestowed upon individuals who have had a major impact in the areas of hurricane preparedness, response, mitigation or related fields through truly exceptional and original improvements or contributions.

In 2004, in the wake of Hurricanes Frances, Jeanne and Charley many Floridians were struggling with roof damage.  Blue tarps were everywhere, but they did not meet the needs of every household.  It has long been FEMA policy to only issue the blue “self help” tarps to families with shingle roofs leaving those with tile, metal or mobile homes to fend for themselves.   Roofers were so busy with work, insurance companies and building departments so backed up, that the blue tarps were failing before any repairs could be made.

Tony knew there had to be a better way for home and business owners to protect their property.  He also knew that the traditional tarp had been unchanged for 100 years.  He had the vision and the tenacity to spend the next few years researching, developing and patenting the EZ Tarp ™, a heavy duty tarpaulin panel with a pressure activated adhesive strip around the edges that adheres to virtually any roof surface in minutes and outlasts the traditional tarp.
