Industry Veteran Michael Versace to Head IDC Financial Insights’ Global Risk Management Advisory Service

FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- IDC Financial Insights today announced the appointment of industry veteran Michael Versace to Research Director, Global Risk Management. In this role, Michael will lead the firm's research initiatives in the area of Global Risk Management. The Global Risk Management Advisory Service research helps financial institutions make mission-critical decisions on their investments in a variety of risk technologies and services, and advises providers on successful strategies for product development, market entry, and penetration.

Mr. Versace joins IDC Financial Insights with thirty years in the Financial Services market. Mr. Versace's experience spans roles within both the private and public sector, including senior positions with the Federal Reserve – where he served with the United States Treasury Financial Management Services –Fidelity Investments, BayBanks, and Bank of New England. In addition, Mr. Versace has an extensive consulting background with firms such as ZEFER/Niteo Partners, NEC Global Services, the Financial Services Technology Consortium, and Coopers and Lybrand (now PwC).

Most recently, Mr. Versace was a Partner and Principal Research Contributor for The Wikibon Project, where he provided business development and research for information management, governance and risk, virtualization and cloud computing, and security strategy. He is a two term Chairman of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee on Information Security in Financial Services. He also is a Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP). </p>

Upcoming research topics will address the issues that are critical to the success of risk programs throughout the financial services enterprise, including risk IT spending, emerging requirements for asset liability management, architecting for effective enterprise risk programs, and essential technology and data strategies to meet global regulatory requirements.
