Hexaware Technologies Teams with Oracle to Launch Oracle’s PeopleSoft Test Framework
| PR Newswire Association LLC |
PTF works by replicating the actions of a single user executing functional tests against the PeopleSoft browser-based application. Users are given the opportunity to record manual test procedures, which can save time within the framework later. PTF test assets are stored as tables in a PeopleSoft application database, giving users the flexibility of moving PTF test cases while migrating from one environment to another.
After an application upgrade, patch or customization, tests can be executed against the application to verify whether the application still works as expected, often called the record and playback approach to automation. Unlike most automation tools that require a manual process for impact analysis on the existing scripts when changes are made, the PTF test maintenance process provides reports that highlight the effected scripts, which can save time, money and increase the accuracy of the entire process of maintaining the PTF automation suite.
"With more than a decade-long relationship as a Platinum member with OPN, Hexaware is proud to offer our clients Oracle's PeopleSoft products," said
"We chose to work with Hexaware due to the company's expertise and experience around PeopleSoft, and the skill the company has shown with different test automation tools," said
By leveraging the relationship between Oracle and Hexaware for the PTF automation suite development, there is a pre-built PTF automation suite for the vanilla functionality for PeopleSoft 9.2 across modules of more than 5,000 automated test scripts that can be reused for customers implementing or upgrading, and thus significantly reducing the automation design time through the reusable automation suite. PTF assets are stored as PeopleSoft Objects, which makes it is easy to migrate across PS instances for different testing phases or upgrades, and is secured under Oracle's PeopleSoft Security and accessible to authorized personnel only.
