Pursuant to The Standard Flood Insurance Policy, Section VII, J. Requirements in Case of Loss, 4. "Within 60 days after the date of loss, send us a proof of loss, which is your statement of the amount you are claiming under the policy signed and sworn to by you, and which furnishes us with the following information."
If the Policyholder fails to meet this 60 day Proof of Loss Requirement, they may lose the right to recover the total amount of damage compensation owed them under the terms of the Flood Policy.
It is important to note that the Flood Adjuster handling your claim may offer their version of your Proof of Loss, with the promise that if a supplement is required, they can assist with the supplement at a later date.
