PR Newswire Association LLC

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Frost Bank, one of the largest banks headquartered in Texas, received a record 22 Greenwich Excellence Awards for superior performance in Overall Client Satisfaction and other relationship and service categories in small-business and middle-market banking, tying for the highest number awarded by Greenwich Associates, the leading research-based consulting firm serving the financial services industry.

This is the eighth consecutive year that Frost has been recognized in the Greenwich Associates study of business banking customers and the first year that Frost received 22 awards, up from 21 last year. The Greenwich Excellence Awards reflect distinguished service and performance in serving small businesses and middle-market firms.

"We are honored to be recognized with a record number of Greenwich Excellence awards, especially because they are the result of interviews with our outstanding business customers, who told Greenwich Associates how much they appreciate our value proposition and our great service," said Dick Evans, chairman and CEO of Frost. "Frost has been helping Texas businesses thrive and succeed through all kinds of cycles for 145 years, and these awards validate the way we take care of our business customers."

Based on Greenwich Associates research through Q2 of 2012, Frost ranks fourth highest in the state of Texas for customer penetration among businesses with $1 to $10 million and $10 to $100 million in sales.

In both middle-market and small-business banking, Frost was recognized as a national winner for:

  • Overall Client Satisfaction
  • Likelihood to Recommend
  • Relationship Manager Performance
  • Treasury Management Overall Satisfaction
  • Treasury Management Customer Service
  • Treasury Management Accuracy of Operations
  • Treasury Management Product Capabilities

Frost was also a national winner in small-business banking for Branch Satisfaction, Online Services, International Service – Customers, and Financial Stability. Frost was named a regional winner for the West in Overall Client Satisfaction and Treasury Management Overall Satisfaction for both middle-market and small-business banking. Of Frost's 22 awards, 13 were in the small-business segment and nine were in the middle-market segment.

Greenwich Associates based the awards on interviews with approximately 31,500 executives across the country. Only a handful of more than 750 banks evaluated stood out as differentiated across a series of qualitative metrics.

Frost is the banking, investments and insurance subsidiary of Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc. (NYSE: CFR), a financial holding company with $21.8 billion in assets at September 30, 2012. One of 24 banks included in the KBW Bank Index and a top-50 U.S. bank by asset size, Frost provides a full range of business and consumer banking products, investment and brokerage services, insurance products and investment banking services to businesses and individuals  in the Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio regions.
