Emmett J Vaughan Agribusiness Conference Attracts More Than 90 Risk and Insurance Professionals

DALLAS, May 7 -- The International Risk Management Institute issued the following news release:

Over 90 insurance agents, brokers, underwriters, and insurance buyers who specialize in managing or insuring farm and agribusiness risks convened in Columbus, Ohio, May 5-6, 2014, for the Emmett J Vaughan Agribusiness Conference.

Virtually all the major providers of insurance services were represented at this premier event for the farm and agribusiness industries. "The unique risks faced by farms and agribusinesses require specialized knowledge to properly manage and insure the exposures. The Emmett J Vaughan Agribusiness Conferences offer a forum where agents, brokers, underwriters, and insurance buyers can gain the expertise they need to properly insure those exposures," said IRMI Director of Training and Education Millie Workman. "The Conferences also offer the opportunity to network and share best practice ideas with peers in the industry."

All of the Conference classes lead to obtaining and maintaining the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) certification, the foremost continuing education program for specialists in the agricultural and farm insurance industry. IRMI acquired the AFIS program from the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of California (IIABCal) in August 2013.

Columbus was the host for the second 2014 Conference in this series, with future 2014 Conferences planned for Richmond, Virginia, September 8-9; and Des Moines, Iowa, October 6-7.
