HealthTransaction Network(R) has received a Letter of Intent from Columbus, Ohio based Strategic Health Care, a national healthcare advocacy and consulting organization with operations in several states. A strategic relationship is being developed with Strategic Health Care that will provide for rapid expansion of the Network throughout Ohio, by leveraging established Strategic Health Care relationships with healthcare providers, small businesses and other healthcare stakeholders. "This relationship with Strategic Health Care is very important to our strategy for rapid national growth and achieving scale in this business. We expect to begin in Ohio and then replicate our efforts in other states," said Joseph Wolfson, President and CEO of HealthTransaction Network(R).
The Company has also reached agreements with the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and Niagara USA Chamber, two of the largest business associations in Western New York. These organizations will promote and offer participation in HealthTransaction Network(R) to its membership in an effort to provide access to a unique, cost effective healthcare solution for small businesses and their employees in our region. The Amherst Chamber of Commerce has a membership roster of more than 2,800 businesses throughout the Western New York area and the Niagara USA Chamber has over 1,200 business members throughout Niagara and surrounding New York counties.
Colleen DiPirro, President and CEO of the Amherst Chamber of Commerce, indicated "We are very pleased to participate in this innovative healthcare program that was created in Western New York. We believe it will provide considerable benefits to our small business members and reduce the cost of healthcare for them and their employees."
"Small businesses and individuals increasingly cannot afford health insurance and they are joining the ranks of uninsured and underinsured in large numbers. Our relationship with the Amherst Chamber of Commerce and Niagara USA Chamber will allow us to quickly reach these groups, provide a very cost effective healthcare solution, and improve access to care for people that are under-served," said Mr. Wolfson.
Additional healthcare provider participants have also been added by HealthTransaction Network(R). These healthcare providers will provide a variety of primary, preventive and wellness care services in the Network, and they include Western New York Dental Group (15 locations), Sharma Family Medicine (1 location), Lakeshore Eyecare (2 locations), University Nuclear Medicine (3 locations), Southgate Medical Pharmacy (2 locations), Williamsville Dental Group (1 location), and Omni Pain & Wellness Centers (1 location). Western New York Dental Group is affiliated with American Dental Partners, a leading U.S. dental group with operations in 18 states. University Nuclear Medicine is affiliated with UB/MD, a practice plan with more than 450 physicians practicing in Western New York. These recent healthcare provider signings bring the number of healthcare provider locations participating in the Network to 56.
HealthTransaction Network(R) has created and implemented the first national, electronic healthcare transaction network in the United States. This Network represents the first electronic transaction infrastructure in the U.S. healthcare industry, utilizing smart chip/card technology, consumer biometric identification, and other industry leading technologies. The initial application of the Network infrastructure provides access to easy, convenient access to affordable routine, preventive and primary healthcare services for the uninsured and underinsured.
