Eco Building Products Sees Increased Sales of Eco Red Shield Protected Lumber

Proquest LLC

Eco Building Products, Inc. (ECOB) announced that one of the Company's busiest affiliates, Guthrie Lumber & Distribution located in Austin, Texas, is experiencing increased sales of Eco Red Shield protected lumber as evidenced by a recent shipment of four truckloads into Dallas, and another multi-family project in Houston.

In a release, the Company said all these orders are not coming in from regional lumber companies they are coming in from the largest lumber brokers in the U.S. Increased spring activity for the Company has empowered ECOB access to all parts of the country.

Eco said its facility in the northeast continues coating lumber in support of ongoing business with the Big Box, while the Company's Colton, Calif.-based operation supports high-volume production for Jacuzzi amongst multiple custom and production oriented residential projects. The Company noted that the commonality is that each region is in need of Eco Red Shield protected lumber as opposed to raw, unprotected lumber.

The risks associated with wood-framed buildings as posed by unpredictable weather and potential future super storms, including wildfires, flooding, and high-wind events, is a real threat that requires proactivity in the Building Industry, including building materials providers supporting increased consumer demand. Also paving the way for the embracement of defensive products in the Building Industry are the recent string of multi-family construction fires in Texas.

"There was a report of a couple of guys working on the roof doing welding," Houston Fire Department Deputy Chief Greg Lewis said. "When our units arrived, there was a small fire and construction workers were attempting to put it out. There was sustained wind of 15 to 20 miles an hour, and it was a wind driven fire."

Lusardi Construction, one of SoCal's largest construction companies, recently constructed a five-story multi-family project out of Eco Red Shield protected lumber in San Diego, similar to the one that burned in Houston. During the progress of the build, the superintendent sent ECOB an email highlighting the positive attributes of Eco Red Shield with respect to fire resistance, after receiving feedback from a welder.

At what point will local and state Government's begin to incentivize homeowners to use defensive building products in the many rebuilds we see taking place across the country? ECOB recently learned of draft legislation in New Jersey that, if adopted, may soon offer homeowners up to a $5,000.00 tax credit for rebuilding with whole-house eco-friendly, defensive products.

"When will insurance providers realize that offering liability insurance discounts to builders and for those that build with some type of whole-house, code supported, lumber defense that could potentially mitigate costly claims especially against mold? Doing so would provide relief to the Construction Industry because it is our belief that it's the liability insurance that could potentially reduce the brick and mortar costs on any build," said Steve Conboy, President/CEO, Eco Building Products.

Eco Building Product sis a manufacturer of treated wood products that are protected against fire, mold/mycotoxins, fungus, rot- decay, wood ingesting insects and termites by our proprietary eco- friendly chemistry utilizing ECOB WoodSurfaceFilm and FRC technology (Fire Retardant Coating).
