Disability Customers Give Assurant Employee Benefits High Scores for Satisfaction

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Assurant Employee Benefits' long-term disability customers give the benefits provider significantly higher satisfaction ratings for several key measures compared to the industry average. In addition, a high percentage of short-term disability customers are satisfied with the company's overall claims handling, according to a just-released satisfaction survey conducted in 2011 by Gen Re, a leader in life/health reinsurance and research.

Among people who file short-term disability claims, almost 90 percent of Assurant Employee Benefits' customers are satisfied with the company's overall handling of their claims and with the accuracy of the benefit payment amount. More than 80 percent are satisfied with its timeliness of decisions and clear explanation of the claims process.
