Acquisition Places U.S. Risk as One of the Top Workers’ Compensation Underwriting Managers and Wholesale Brokers in the Country
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- U.S. Risk, a privately owned specialty lines underwriting manager and wholesale broker headquartered in Dallas, Texas, today announces the acquisition of Sarasota, Florida-based Unisource Program Administrators. The acquisition doubles the size of U.S. Risk’s workers’ compensation written premium, adds four A-rated national carriers to its lineup of workers’ compensation markets as well as brings over a decade of workers’ comp expertise. The acquisition also allows U.S Risk to offer, on a national basis, stand alone monoline workers’ compensation solutions to most industries – making U.S. Risk the “One Stop Shop for Workers’ Comp.”
“The acquisition of Unisource represents not only the addition of new workers’ compensation markets and years of expertise, but more importantly the immediate opportunity to offer the diversity of U.S. Risk’s product portfolio to the Florida and South East markets,” U.S. Risk CEO Randall Goss said. “This is a strategic acquisition to enhance our product offerings and expand the production footprint of U.S. Risk. Unisource has been a leader in Worker’s Compensation for many years and we are pleased to now include them among our group of operating companies.”
The specialty workers’ compensation office in Sarasota will continue to operate as Unisource Program Administrators. U.S. Risk will gain the ability to offer additional workers’ compensation markets to its network of 4,000 retail producers. Unisource’s existing distribution network of 1,900 retail producers will benefit from access to the U.S. Risk product portfolio which offers all forms of property, casualty, automobile, umbrella, professional, and risk management products and services.
“Unisource has been seeking this kind of opportunity to better serve our agents by adding other lines of insurance and to continue expanding our workers’ compensation footprint,” said Karen Bolinder, VP of Operations at Unisource Program Administrators. “Taking the best from both companies, we are going to have a one-of-a-kind business model that will serve clients more extensively and efficiently.”
