DLA Piper Expands Global Insurance and Reinsurance Sector Group with Industry Veteran William Marcoux in New York

DLA Piper announced that William Marcoux has joined the firm as a partner and head of its Insurance Sector Transactions and Regulation practice. Marcoux arrives from Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, where he was co-head of Dewey's Insurance Sector Group and a member of its Executive Committee.

With 30 years of experience in complex global insurance industry transactions involving both life and non-life companies, Marcoux is widely regarded as one of the preeminent insurance industry M&A and regulatory lawyers in the world. His practice is focused on corporate restructurings, capital raisings, M&A transactions, market conduct proceedings, insurance regulation and government investigations and enforcement actions.

Marcoux's global experience includes spending more than a decade in London and considerable time working and managing offices in Hong Kong and Paris. He is highly regarded by industry executives in the London, European, Asian and United States insurance markets. In addition to advising on cross-border transactions within Europe and Asia, Marcoux also advises non-US insurers operating in the United States and US insurers expanding overseas.
