Creative Marketing Launches the “Wellness for Life” Program, Offered through Aviva

This Innovative Design Offers Rewards to Life Insurance Customers for Leading Healthier Lives and is Supported by an Exclusive Relationship between Aviva and Mayo Clinic Health Solutions

OVERLAND PARK, KS - May 30, 2008 - Creative Marketing announces today their support for, and the distribution of, the “Wellness for Life” rider and program, offered through insurance carrier, Aviva.  This wellness oriented program provides insurance customers incentives and rewards for leading a healthier lifestyle, as well as grants access to Mayo Clinic Health Solutions as a wellness resource for healthy living.  Creative Marketing is strongly committed to the underlying mission of the wellness program; simply, to improve the quality of life for its insurance customers; and is dedicated to providing its agents, and the industry as a whole, with the education and support they need to adequately understand and represent the “Wellness for Life” rider and program.  This program will ultimately ensure life insurance clients are maintaining or improving their health as they age, and benefit from the financial savings offered through this innovative design.

“This forward-thinking model is a win-win for everyone involved,” stated Scott Johnson, President of Creative Marketing’s Life Division.  “It’s a new development to an already competitive product and offers our agent’s clients no lapse guarantee (NLG) life insurance protection and an incentive to obtain and maintain a healthy lifestyle, ultimately enjoying a better quality of life while saving money.  The carrier wins, as it’s able to be proactively involved in improving the lives of its insurance clients, while continuing to provide quality services at reduced premiums.”

Creative Marketing is committed to bringing the best products and services to the marketplace first, and offers training and support to ensure product education and proper use by all agents who receive the wellness certification.

The “Wellness for Life” program is an optional rider that is available on several Fixed Indexed Universal Life policies offered through Aviva.  Customers in the “Wellness for Life” program are eligible for potential savings with their policy’s cost of insurance simply by having a bi-annual physical examination from a doctor.  Additionally, “Wellness for Life” customers can increase their potential savings by maintaining their body weight within a range established specifically for them, at the time they purchased the policy. The amount of potential savings on their cost of insurance will be based on improvement in the life expectancies for all participants in the “Wellness for Life” program.  The savings will be reflected in rate reductions for the customers meeting one or both wellness criteria.   The cost to the client to add the rider to their life insurance policy is a nominal one-time fee of $100. The program benefits are available during the entire life of the policy so that customers who do not qualify for cost of insurance savings in one particular year can still qualify in any future year, and there are no penalties for not qualifying for these savings in any year.  Combined with Aviva’s competitive NLG rider, customers have a premium guaranteed never to increase, but could potentially decrease by earning wellness rewards.

Customers enrolled in this program will have access to a suite of valuable wellness resources from Mayo Clinic Health Solutions, a division of the esteemed Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  These resources will serve as a reliable source of health and wellness information and will provide participants:

  • Health assessments and a personal wellness Web portal
  • Unlimited access to Ask Mayo Clinic, a 24-hour nurse call line
  • Mayo Clinic Embody Health quarterly newsletter
  • Discounts on Mayo Clinic publications

Licensed life agents, who are certified to represent the “Wellness for Life” program, will also receive the same benefits from Mayo Clinic Health Solutions free of charge, as well.

“Creative Marketing is a valued partner of Aviva,” stated Jim Boldt, Vice President of Training and Sales Development for Aviva.  “We at Aviva are very excited that Creative Marketing recognizes the unique opportunity that the “Wellness for Life” program brings to the insurance industry, its agents and their clients.  Their receptiveness and commitment to agent education and promotion of this program is invaluable, and we’re proud to have Creative Marketing take part in the wellness revolution we’re bringing to America.”

Because of the unique nature of the program and product offerings, there is an additional wellness certification required of insurance agents who wish to represent this product to their clients.  The certification can be achieved through a two-hour classroom training course, or can be completed on-line by taking an easy to use tutorial, offered by Aviva.   Aviva is currently on its “2008 Innovation Tour,” where a promotionally wrapped Aviva “Wellness for Life” tour bus is visiting 31 cities in 2 countries in 16 weeks.  The bus conducted an on-site training session from Creative Marketing on Friday, May 30th. Agents were invited to attend this training and received their wellness certification the same day.  As a valued partner of Aviva, Creative Marketing will continue to offer on-going training for the wellness certification.  Additionally, Creative Marketing will be conducting a series of webinars on the wellness program, further assisting in agent education.  To learn more about the upcoming webinars, visit www.creativemarketing.net.  Certification exams are available on-line as well at www.avivawellnessagent.com.
