Coventry Workers’ Comp Services Selects Jopari For Comprehensive E-Bill Compliance In Texas And Other States

Industry’s Premier Medical and Integrated Technology Solutions Company Leads Payer and Provider Conversion to Full Electronic Bill Cycle Processing
DOWNERS GROVE, IL and CONCORD, CA— September 6, 2007— Jopari Solutions, Inc., the industry’s technology leader in end-to-end bill cycle automation, announced today that Coventry Workers’ Comp Services (Coventry) has selected Jopari’s Medical EDI Gateway to be the comprehensive eBilling compliance solution for its customers.
Ebill regulations in Texas require, with limited exceptions, jurisdiction-wide conversion to EDI based processing of medical bills starting January 2008. Providers in Texas will be required to use ANSI 837 transaction data for submission of medical bills to insurance payers. Payers in turn must use HIPAA adopted ANSI 835 Remittance Advice for explanations of payments, payment reductions, and denials.
Full conversion to EDI medical bill processing by the Texas Department of Workers’ Compensation, the first state system requiring the use of national standards for electronic health care billing & remittance, is intended to simplify and lower the cost of bill processing for payers and providers. The Texas Department of Insurance has projected significant system savings as a result of requiring the use of eBilling technology.
Coventry Workers’ Comp Services selected Jopari’s EDI Gateway as its compliance solution based on Jopari’s flexible and comprehensive technology platform. In addition to eBill delivery and remittance compliance, the Jopari platform uses flexible data management that allows customers to easily adapt existing legacy systems to the new eBill rules.
The Jopari EDI Gateway also extends to automated payment processing. Coventry payment services will include electronic funds transfer (EFT) and provide adaptable electronic remittance advice (ERA) presentment. Included are Provider Portal tools facilitating selfservice bill and payment status inquiry.
Commenting on the new relationship with Coventry, Steve Stevens, CEO of Jopari Solutions, said, “Jopari is extremely pleased to be an important part of Coventry’s eBill compliance solution. Coventry’s continued dedication to market leadership and innovation makes them a key player in the eBilling arena and a highly valued business partner. We are looking forward to working with Coventry and setting the standard in the eBilling arena.”
