Coventry Health Care To Use ProVentive’s Solutions for Cardiovascular Risk Assessment
Business Editors/Health/Medical Writers
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 16, 2008--ProVentive, the leading information technology provider of quality improvement solutions for the health care industry, announced today that Coventry Health Care, Inc. (Coventry) has selected ProVentive for its leading-edge pilot project in identifying and managing cardiovascular risk.
Coventry, providing a full range of group and individual health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid programs, and coverage for specialty services including dental services, will deploy ProVentive’s solutions to identify health plan members who are most likely to develop adverse cardiovascular clinical conditions, and will use the application as a base from which to launch its comprehensive Heart Failure pilot program.
The voluntary Heart Failure program is focused on early identification of risk factors, daily symptom monitoring and medication reminders using a home-based device. In addition, the program will align member and physician incentives, promote healthier behavior through self monitoring by members, and include personalized nurse education.
ProVentive’s solutions address one of the most pressing issues facing managed care plans today: how to deliver quality improvement and care management programs to the members that need them the most, at the exact time when they can deliver the greatest impact to a member’s health. ProVentive provides innovative solutions that rapidly assess an individual's overall health and determine the interaction of physical health, behavioral health, substance abuse and psycho-social factors in order to help health plans understand the specific health status of an individual, and what can be done to improve it.
Mr. Saeed Aminzadeh, Senior Vice President of ProVentive noted, "Coventry is at the leading edge of using technology to better serve its members. We are excited about putting the power of ProVentive to work for them."
Dr. Vishu Jhaveri, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Coventry said, “ProVentive’s unique technology – marrying pattern-recognition technology and clinical member assessments – and innovative approach to understanding, predicting and stratifying member risk will enable us to focus our programs on individuals that need it the most, thereby improving the quality of care provided to our members.”
