City-Am entries

The Asheboro Cultural and Recreation Services Department is taking entries for the 2014 Asheboro City Amateur. The tournament will be held May 30-June 1.

The tournament is open to all male residents of Randolph County age 18 and older, not currently enrolled in high school. This year's field will be limited to 136 players. The top 75 and ties from last year will be automatically qualified for this year's tournament along with all past champions and the reigning City Junior Champion.

If more than 136 entries are received, all others will have to play an 18-hole qualifying round at the Asheboro Municipal Golf Course on May 17, 18, 24 or 25.

The entry fee for this year's event is $130 plus a $13 qualifying fee for those who have to qualify. Each entrant will receive two tickets to the tournament banquet after Sunday's round at Pinewood Country Club and a chance to win a $400 gift card. Anyone wishing additional tickets for the tournament banquet on Sunday must purchase the tickets for $18 each at the time of registration.

This year's event will again feature a "Tournament within a Tournament" sponsored by Joe Fowler and Stratos Wealth Partners. There will be over $4,000 in awards and prizes.
