Chalmette Insurance Agent Timothy Clements Named 2014 Young Insurance Professional of the Year

Timothy P. Clements of Clements Insurance Services in Chalmette, Louisiana, has been named the 2014 PIA National Young Insurance Professional of the Year.

In a release, the Company said that the award was presented March 28, by the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) and was sponsored by The Rough Notes Company.

"The 2014 PIA National Young Insurance Professional of the Year is truly an outstanding young agent," said PIA National President- elect Richard A. Clements of Chalmette, who presented the award. "He is very deserving of this award. Of course, I'm prejudiced. I know our winner pretty well. He's my son, Timothy P. Clements."

Chalmette said that the PIA National Young Insurance Professional of the Year award recognizes outstanding achievement by a young insurance professional. Tim was honored for his dedication to his profession, his contributions to the community and his tireless efforts to get more young people to pursue a career as an independent insurance agent.

"The PIA is recognizing the need to attract future Professional Insurance Agents," Tim Clements said. "We need to show the next generation that our industry is promising. We need to let them know that being a doctor or lawyer isn't the only way to make money. Sales is the only job without a salary cap. When you return back to your home states, invite a young person to your office and educate them on our industry. You could make a difference in that person's life. Get that young person involved in the PIA and grow that YIPs organization in your state. Perhaps you can give them the same honor and opportunity for a great career helping my neighbors that my father and the PIA have given me."

The PIA National Young Insurance Professional of the Year award, sponsored for the ninth year in a row by The Rough Notes Company, was presented during a gala luncheon ceremony on March 28, in Arlington, Virginia, held during the national PIA meetings, which followed the annual PIA Federal Legislative Summit.

PIA is a national trade association that represents member insurance agents and their employees who sell and service all kinds of insurance, but specialize in coverage of automobiles, homes and businesses.
