CRT Capital Group LLC Announces Formation of Capital Markets Group and Key Hires

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- CRT Capital Group LLC (“CRT”) today announced the formation of its Capital Markets Group, which will be led by Justin Vorwerk. The Capital Markets Group will leverage CRT’s well-established distribution platform to provide clients with debt and equity origination services and liability management advice.

As head of the Capital Markets Group, Mr. Vorwerk brings more than 30 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience to CRT. Most recently he served as Co-Head of Corporate Finance at The PrinceRidge Group LLC. Prior to PrinceRidge, Mr. Vorwerk was the Head of North American Sponsor Coverage at RBS Securities and held senior banker positions at Goldman Sachs, and Credit Suisse/DLJ. Mr. Vorwerk will be joined at CRT by David Dickson, who has 25 years of investment banking experience. Mr. Dickson was most recently a Senior Managing Director at FBR Capital Markets following 20 years at UBS and Dillon Read, and three years at Merrill Lynch.

“Justin and David bring a wealth of Capital Markets knowledge and experience to CRT,” said Ron Kripalani, Chief Executive Officer of CRT. “Under Justin’s leadership, our new Capital Markets Group will combine with our established research and distribution platforms to deliver significant synergies and further our efforts to become a comprehensive financial services provider for our institutional and corporate clients.”

CRT’s new Capital Markets Group complements an established credit distribution team that was recently expanded through the addition of three senior credit sales professionals: Pat Downey, former Head of Distressed Credit Sales at Bank of America, Sandy Volpert, formerly of Seaport Securities, and Ted Hines, who previously held similar positions at Chapdelaine Credit Partners and Merrill Lynch. CRT has also augmented its product offering with the formation of its Loan Trading business, headed by Marc Nuccitelli, which allows CRT to act as principal when settling loan trades.

CRT has over 20 years experience as an institutionally-focused broker-dealer, and continues to build a world class organization delivering unsurpassed research and trade execution services to its clients by attracting best-in-class talent for its sales, trading, technology and support functions. Combining CRT’s strong institutional relationships and proven distribution platform with recognized research capabilities makes CRT a compelling capital raising partner.
