Two Blue Shield of California directors have been promoted to vice president, reflecting the not-for-profit health plan's commitment to providing growth opportunities to leaders who have excelled in their service to the company and its customers.
Jeff Hermosillo joined Blue Shield in 2006 as director of Account Management for the Labor, Public and Strategic Accounts team (LPS) and has been promoted to vice president of Sales and Account Management within that team. In his new role, Hermosillo will oversee LPS sales activities, along with client management activities for Blue Shield of California's largest customers. He will continue to report to Janet Widmann, vice president and general manager of the CalPERS, Labor, Public and Strategic Business Unit.
Hermosillo has more than 20 years of experience working with strategic, labor and public sector accounts on both a regional and national level, having previously worked at both Kaiser and UnitedHealth Group. While at UnitedHealth's Uniprise division, Hermosillo successfully managed national accounts such as Wells Fargo, Harrah's Entertainment, Cisco Systems and Oracle. He holds Bachelor's degrees from Stanford University in Sociology, Organizational Behavior, as well as Economics.
Tina Kibler has been promoted to vice president of Internal Audit Services from her role as director of the same group. In her new role, Kibler will lead IT Audit Capabilities as well as Information Security, Business Continuity and Shield Advance Risk Oversight. She will report to Heidi Kunz, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Since joining Blue Shield in 2006, Kibler has introduced new risk assessment approaches and implemented best practices for audit execution and management follow-up. She has previously held senior internal audit positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Dollar General, and World Savings. Kibler's certifications include CIA, CITP, and CISA. She also received the Institute of Internal Auditor's 2004 CCSA Highest Achievement Award for the highest score on the CCSA exam. Kibler has a Bachelor of Accounting degree from the University of North Florida.
