Banyan Finance Appoints Scott Meyer as Controller

Banyan Finance announced that it has named Scott L. Meyer, C.P.A. as Controller.

According to a release, in that role, he will work closely with CEO Ross E. Elgart and other members of the senior management team in implementing the company's growth strategy.

Banyan Finance is a company focused on the Casualty Medical Plan segment, which offers physicians and other medical services providers, including MRI facilities, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers, an alternative reimbursement source to traditional health insurance for uninsured and underinsured accident victims.

Prior to joining Banyan Finance, Meyer worked for the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, as a manager in its audit and enterprise risk services division. At Deloitte, his audit clients included large, multinational SEC registrants as well as small, private companies. Meyer assisted clients with debt and equity offerings as well as acquisitions and dispositions, and has significant knowledge of financial reporting requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 requirements on internal controls over financial reporting

Elgart said, "Scott is a valuable addition to the Banyan Finance management team, whose members have experience at such world class companies as Morrison & Foerster, Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, Geico, State Farm and Goldman Sachs. His background in advising companies on corporate finance and financial reporting requirements will be useful as we continue to expand Banyan Finance's position in the Casualty Medical Plan segment as the premiere alternative reimbursement source to traditional health insurance for physicians and other medical services providers who treat uninsured and underinsured accident victims."

Meyer will work in the company's Boca Raton headquarters.
