BRIEF: Legion baseball: Bellefonte runs past Philipsburg

June 11--BELLEFONTE -- A five-run third inning helped the Bellefonte American Legion baseball team to an 8-1 win over Philipsburg on Tuesday at Governor's Park.

A two-run double for Taylor Smith and a two-run single for Taylor Butts keyed the big inning, and back-to-back RBI singles for Butts and Trent Fortney added two more insurance runs in the fifth.

Dan Roan scattered seven hits in the complete-game win, striking out six and walking three.

Smith finished with a pair of doubles, and Roan and David Keller also doubled for Bellefonte (4-3).

Travis Arnold doubled for Philipsburg (0-2).
