Arbella Appoints New VP of Marketing
QUINCY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Arbella Insurance Group, the state’s third-largest auto insurer, is pleased to announce two promotions within the senior management team. Steve Jacobs will transition to Vice President of Marketing and Tracy Hurley will assume the role of Vice President of Claims effective November 30, 2009.
“These promotions clearly demonstrate Arbella's commitment to developing leaders across our organization and within our industry," said Arbella President and CEO John Donohue. “I look forward to continuing to work with both Steve and Tracy as they take on their new roles."
Mr. Jacobs assumes responsibility for coordinating all aspects of Arbella’s market position and strategy as changes ushered in by Massachusetts new managed competition system increase the competitive landscape, and Arbella’s entry and growth in other New England states broadens the focus of marketing efforts. Mr. Jacobs, a 20-year Arbella veteran, most recently built Arbella’s extremely successful Claims organization, where he streamlined many processes, enhancing the quality of the claims experience, reducing expenses and achieving exceptional service levels. Arbella’s claims department has become a hallmark of customer satisfaction at Arbella and central to market positioning. Mr. Jacobs will draw on the strong relationships that he has developed with Arbella’s independent agents, as well as his deep knowledge of Arbella’s marketing efforts.
Prior to joining Arbella, Mr. Jacobs spent an additional 15 years in a variety of Claim roles with Kemper Insurance. He is a native of Quincy and a resident of Marshfield.
Tracy Hurley has been appointed to take over the role of Vice President of Claims. Ms. Hurley joined Arbella as Assistant Vice President of Claims in November 2005 and has since demonstrated her exceptional leadership skills. Ms. Hurley is credited with implementing many new processes within the Claims department, including the introduction and roll out of Arbella's Claim Service Center.
Prior to joining Arbella, Tracy spent over five years with the Travelers Insurance Company in a number of progressive Claims Management roles. Tracy has her JD from Suffolk Law and a BA in Political Science from UMass, Amherst. She is a resident of North Attleboro, MA.
