AIG SunAmerica, Intel and NaviSys Collaborate on Large-Scale Test of NaviSys Policy Administration Software Running in Windows Environment

NaviSys Home Office™ hits performance targets on Unisys platform running Windows 2000; Solution will support AIG SunAmerica annuity contract processing

EDISON, NJ (May 21, 2003) – NaviSys today announced that performance analysis performed by Intel® Solution Services in Santa Clara proved Navisys’ Home Office system capable of meeting the high-volume annuity transaction processing needs of AIG SunAmerica Inc.  The tests, conducted last fall, were a required step before AIG SunAmerica placed the system into production.

Randy Epright, Chief Information Officer at AIG SunAmerica said: “This project is part of our overall plan to improve operating efficiencies for our business partners while significantly lowering our IT costs. We are consolidating our annuity business on a single, efficient administrative platform to enable rapid product rollout and browser-based administrative support. Going forward, we’ll benefit from the lower total cost of ownership by standardizing our IT infrastructure on Intel-based hardware and the Windows 2000 operating system.”

The six-week long battery of tests conducted by AIG SunAmerica, Intel Solution Services and NaviSys technology teams simulated AIG SunAmerica’s high-volume usage. In the test, NaviSys Home Office™ was used by the equivalent of 500 customer service representatives processing almost 1,000 new applications per eight-hour day. The test database contained 1.8 million annuity contracts and completed a combined total of six million transactions.

The server was a Unisys ES7000 configured with thirty-two Intel® Xeon™ processors MP, 16 gigabytes of memory, and Windows 2000 Data Center.  For redundancy, the server was partitioned to run as two 16-way machines.

Rick Echevarria, General Manager of Intel Solution Services, said: “We are pleased to support AIG SunAmerica’s deployment of NaviSys’ browser-based administration software. This successful project adds to Intel’s growing list of large enterprise deployments.”
