By clicking on the “Ask an Expert” links on AIGDirect.com, consumers are directed to a webpage on the site where they can choose to message the company through Facebook. A company representative monitors the site during regular business hours and responds directly to consumers.

Consumers have been using the “Ask an Expert” social media option to address customer service issues, such as:

   •       Asking about the different types of term life insurance and which may be best for them.
   •      Checking on the current status of their pending term life insurance policy application.
   •      Contacting the company’s customer service or sales departments.
