Quick Tips For Communicating With Clients During COVID-19 Crisis
So many advisors are working remotely now that the COVID-19 pandemic has force people to stay home. Add a tanking stock market to that situation and you have clients who need their advisor to communicate with them.
Brock Jolly, financial advisor at Veritas Financial, shared some tips for communicating with clients during a webinar held Monday for members of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Jolly is running his office remotely while reaching out to his clients. Here is the advice he gave his fellow advisors.
- Be proactive. Don’t treat this time of social distancing like a vacation.
- Don’t be afraid to reach out to clients. Clients know the market drop is not your fault and they shouldn’t blame you for it.
- Don’t worry so much about keeping to a schedule. Working remotely instead of in the office requires some time flexibility.
- Be a leader. Clients are feeling isolated and they want human interaction. Be a sounding board for them.
- Be empathetic. Clients are afraid that the current situation may last longer than anticipated.
- Be honest. None of us has a crystal ball and none of us knows what the future will bring. Don’t be afraid to admit you can’t predict what will happen.
- Be a rock. Clients are looking for you to provide stability and reassurance.
