Summer Storm Safety Tips For Clients
Cunningham Financial Group
Is your agency getting ready for the summer? It may be time to begin preparing your business for the influx of claims. While your clients may normally have trouble with housing damage during the winter depending on your area, the summer is also prone to some risks. Weather incidents such as tornadoes and thunderstorms seem to be popping up everywhere, and our state of Louisiana was hit hard by some storms recently. Since storms lead to many homeowners' insurance claims for us, your agency should be ready for the inevitable claims you will receive.
As June, July and August are prone to thunderstorms, you may want to make sure your clients are getting the safety information they need and share some thunderstorm or hurricane safety tips. Whether they’re current or future customers, showing them that you care about their well-being will lay a solid foundation for a great relationship down the line.
Check out these safety tips for homeowners during a thunderstorm:
• Stay away from windows
• Stay off the phone
• Use flashlights/light candles
• Avoid taking showers or baths in case of a lightning strike
• Turn off electrical equipment and unplug everything from the wall to avoid a short circuit
Thunderstorms and hurricanes have the potential to not only cause damage to homes, but also injuries to people. As an independent insurance agency, you always want to be there for your customers, and this is one great way to do it. Aside from providing coverage policies, offering information and advice is another way to help.
Your clients are the lifeblood of your agency, so remember to help them in every way you can!
