Claim Your Unlimited Pipeline

By staff writer Sponsored By Oxford Advisory Group

Our agents get 5-7 qualified appointments per day — every day. No prospecting and our back office handles everything else.

Ten years ago, Chris Dixon was building financial plans from a McDonald’s because he couldn’t afford internet at home.

Today, as co-owner of Oxford Advisory Group, he leads a team of more than 50 professionals that manage BILLIONS in client assets, and on pace to bring in hundreds of millions in new assets this year.

The numbers sound impressive, but this is reality and the story is even more compelling.

“My first client still doesn’t know I built their financial plan using the free wi-fi at McDonald’s,” Dixon said. “I was living in a single-wide trailer with my wife and son, and something deep down told me this wasn’t who I was going to be.”

That experience shaped more than his work ethic. It shaped his philosophy.

“I don’t view things as sales,” he said. “I view them as opportunities.”

That mindset still drives Oxford today. While many firms focus on products or transactions, Dixon has built a business around one belief: if you educate people, simplify the complex, and solve problems others can’t, growth follows.

“The report I care about isn’t how many assets we gathered,” he said. “It’s how many families we affected.”

That philosophy is most evident in estate planning, where Dixon believes the industry often falls short.

“People think getting a trust is estate planning,” he said. “It’s not.”

Too often, clients bounce between a financial advisor, a CPA, and an estate planning attorney, with no one coordinating the strategy. Oxford took a different approach by bringing those professionals together, allowing investments, tax planning, estate planning, healthcare, and retirement income strategies to work as one comprehensive plan.

“We’re asking how everything works together,” Dixon said. “The details matter.”

Estate planning may open the conversation, but Dixon believes tax strategy is what captures attention because it’s immediate, tangible and personal. Once clients understand how taxes, legacy planning and asset protection fit together, they’re able to make more informed decisions about protecting what they’ve built.

“People don’t make decisions because of numbers,” he said. “The numbers help them understand. The decision happens when they understand what’s really at stake.”

That same thinking extends to how Oxford develops advisors.

Dixon studies communication as intensely as he studies finance because he believes the best advisors don’t overwhelm people with technical knowledge. They earn trust by making complicated ideas simple and connecting through authentic stories.

“I tell every new advisor, ‘We have to craft your story,’” he said. “People connect with people.”

Oxford has built its business so advisors can focus on exactly that. Marketing, educational events, client acquisition, operations and back-office support are handled internally, allowing advisors to spend their time educating clients and building relationships instead of chasing prospects.

The result is what Dixon calls an “unlimited pipeline.” Oxford advisors arrive each day with qualified appointments already on their calendars, supported by a team designed to help them succeed. The firm’s average advisor earns approximately $750,000 annually, not because they’re expected to do everything, but because they’re free to focus on what they do best.

“I create the opportunity,” Dixon said. “They show up, tell their story, and help people make better decisions.  We do it all for the right advisor”

For advisors who are content with the status quo, Oxford probably isn’t the right fit.

But for those committed to mastering their craft, making a bigger impact, and building an unlimited pipeline, Dixon has a simple message:

“I don’t want average,” he said. “I want the best.”
