Aug. 17--An Orangeburg construction management firm has once again been named in the top 25 "Best Places to Work in South Carolina."

Orangeburg'sC.F. Evans & Co. Inc. was ranked 18th in the small and medium employer category, the S.C. Chamber of Commerce announced.

The company received the award for the sixth consecutive time.

The business was ranked 18th last year. Previously, it has been ranked 14th, 11th twice and 10th once. The company has won the award each year since 2009.

The small-medium employer category consisted of about 26 businesses throughout the state that employ between 15-249 individuals. The 2014 rankings were unveiled at an awards banquet sponsored by Colonial Life on Aug. 7 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Columbia.

The South Carolina Chamber, Best Companies Group and the publishers of SC BIZ magazine announced the winners.

The award is to recognize South Carolina's most innovative and top-notch employers.

The Best Places to Work competition is open to all South Carolina for-profit and not-for-profit organizations with at least 15 employees working in South Carolina.

Simpsonville'sHire Dynamics, LLC was ranked number one in the small and medium category and Kentucky-based Edward Jones was ranked number one of large companies.

The large-employer category is for firms with 250 employees or more.

Each employer filled out a questionnaire that was combined with satisfaction surveys completed by company employees.

This information was analyzed and weighed against set criteria -- including leadership and planning, training and development, and more -- to determine a company's ranking.
