National Life Group Foundation Donations Help Dallas TX Area Non-Profits
Addison, TX - February 5, 2013 — The charitable foundation of financial services company National Life Group donated a total of $70,000 to three area non-profit organizations that support at-risk children. The grants were awarded at a press conference at the company’s location in Addison, Texas.
“This generous gift will enable us to immediately reach 80 more students,” said Sandra Chavarria, President and CEO, Communities In Schools Dallas Region (CISDR). “This will make a big impact to the kids who need it most.”
CISDR received a grant for $40,000 to help at-risk students stay in school and graduate by providing comprehensive, individualized academic and support services all day and every day directly on 64 school campuses in 14 school districts in Dallas, Collin, Ellis, Hunt, and Rockwall counties. The grant will also help support CISDR’s innovative special initiatives, such as G.E.M.S. (Girls Exploring Math and Science), Ketchup Saturdays, and a Mobile Services team.
A grant for $20,000 was given to Community Partners of Dallas. Said Paige McDaniel, President and CEO, “We’re so excited! We’ll make this money go a long way so we can continue to help Child Protective Services caseworkers and abused and neglected children. It’s a privilege to be able to do this work.”
Heart of a Warrior Foundation received $10,000 from the Foundation. Marketing and Non-profit Assistant Susan Zidlicky commented, “We’re planning to further expand the programs we offer inner-city Dallas kids throughout the summer so this grant couldn’t have come at a better time.”
“Each of these organizations is doing such good for Dallas children, particularly those who are often in desperate situations,” said Mehran Assadi, President and CEO of National Life Group. “We’re pleased to help them continue their proven work with this support.”
The company’s foundation awards grants to Dallas area non-profit organizations as well as non-profits in northern Vermont where the company is headquartered.
