Former Insurance Executive Joins Nelson Levine As Of Counsel
PHILADELPHIA – September 5, 2013 - Leading insurance law firm Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton (Nelson Levine) announced today that John J. Geer, Jr. has joined the firm as Of Counsel. John most recently held senior leadership positions at GEICO, including Assistant Vice President and Head of Staff Counsel, head of the claims program and head of the Site Effectiveness Division of the Internet Business Unit. At Nelson Levine, John will work closely with the firm’s Executive Management Team to ensure that strategic objectives are met and the execution of business plans is achieved. He previously served as a member of the firm’s Executive Board.
Nelson Levine’s Executive Management Team is comprised of seasoned legal professionals who are responsible for running the firm’s operations. This structure allows the firm’s attorneys to focus on serving clients. The team works closely with Nelson Levine’s Executive Board, which consists of former insurance executives who are tapped to help the firm continue to identify ways to better serve the industry.

John spent 17 years working for GEICO and served in a number of roles, including Vice President & Head of Staff Counsel, where he oversaw a team of attorneys representing policyholders.
Prior to GEICO, John served 23 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy's Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC). While a member of JAGC, he held various positions, including Deputy Assistant Judge Advocate General for claims and tort litigation matters and Assistant Judge Advocate General where he handled operational and personnel activity at JAGC headquarters.
