Zurich Canada Selects Industry Veteran to Lead Management Solutions Group

TORONTO, Canada, July 3 -- Zurich Insurance, a property-casualty insurance company, issued the following news release:

Dane Hambrook has been appointed vice president, Management Solutions Group, Specialty Products, for Zurich Canada.

Hambrook will be responsible for leading and developing the team assigned to underwriting financial lines (directors & officers, crime, representations & warranties, pension trustee liability and employment practices liability), professional lines (errors & omissions and cyber) and trade credit and political risk (fronted portfolio). He brings over 14 years of underwriting leadership experience in financial and professional lines and fills a key role related to U.S.-traded directors & officers, financial institutions directors & officers and representations & warranties.

Hambrook will start with Zurich on July 2 and will report to Greg Irvine, head of Specialty Products, Zurich Canada. He will be based in the Toronto office.

"Dane's customer-led reputation in the industry will be an asset to the team as we look to build sustainable, profitable relationships with select brokers supporting our middle market directors & officers portfolio," Irvine said. "His keen reinsurance acumen will also enable us to seamlessly manage our reinsurer relationships."

Hambrook previously held increasing levels of specialty lines underwriting and leadership responsibilities with AIG Canada and, most recently, as Chief Operating Officer & Chief Agent for Ironshore Canada, a global specialty property & casualty insurer. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Brunswick and has completed the Executive Fintech Programme at Said Business School, University of Oxford.
