Woman charged with DUI in 4-car pileup that injured 3 people: Naperville police

Jan. 04--A Lisle woman was charged with DUI on New Year's Day after allegedly causing a four-car crash at 75th Street and Naper Boulevard in which three people were injured, Naperville police said.
The preliminary investigation indicates Sara A. Ricker, 49, of the 5300 block of Newport Street, was driving a blue Nissan SUV at a high rate of speed about 5:20 p.m.Jan. 1 when she hit a vehicle stopped for a red light, causing a chain-reaction crash involving four vehicles, police said.
Occupants from three of the vehicles were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. One driver declined medical treatment.
Ricker was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no proof of insurance, police said.
